I'd challenge that, I definitely believe the sender has completed their service when the parcel has been accepted at YouShop, at which point the responsibility shifts to the freight forwarder, NZ Post.

Youshop is a budget service, though they've always been fine for me. If you want good professional service, often at a significantly higher, shipitto is better.

Youshop have limited features to keep costs down, that isn't a justification for failing to meet timeframes, poor communication, or losing packages

Maybe it's the NZ Post effect, like when they take two weeks to deliver a parcel across Auckland

Does anybody know if consolidating parcels resets the timer for "expiring parcels".

I have one item that has been sat there for a few weeks.

Two new items arrived in today. I have consolidated the three of them.. but I'm still expecting two more.

Will the first item expire and be discarded or is that now set to zero again?

I am now waiting for youshop to call me about 'what compensation will be available' for my lost package. Apparently I can't ring them!

I'm a new user and had 3 items for delivery

The first was "ready for dispatch" 8 days before delivery began and has not had a status update for 6 days

The second and third are 7 days and counting

Is this normal?

It can be that long. I've had a nine day wait between payment and the 'Its on the Way' email. Usually pretty quick after that though (about 3 working days till in my hand).

Gemini- It doesn't sound outside the normal limits, I hope your parcel/s don't get lost like mine!

Last status update it had cleared customs in Auckland on the 1st of Feb- Its now officially lost and I am (still) trying to get my money back!

Funny how it travels around the world and then gets lost in NZ, kinda says something doesn't it.

Your questions answered :)

 From their website

Your parcel's arrival at the warehouse

You will be notified when your parcel has arrived at our warehouse, has been processed into the warehouse and is ready for payment. This notification can take up to 3 working days after your parcel arrives at our warehouse.

But in their FAQ

If your parcel isn't identified and it has been more than 2 working days since your item was delivered, please contact our National Contact Centre.

From Youshop Customer support:

Once you have paid the postage, your parcel will be shipped at the end of the next processing day.

The warehouse dispatches parcels at the end of the day on

- Tuesday - Saturday (New Zealand time) for YouShop USA standard parcels
- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for YouShop USA economy parcels
- Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for YouShop Europe parcels
- Saturday for YouShop China parcels

I used to find YouShop quick, but lately so slow. For example I paid for a parcel on Wed 15th, and now 8 days later it's shipped. So it missed the Saturday and Tuesday dispatch days for some reason.

From Youshop:

The US Youshop warehouse team are experiencing delays with dispatching our Economy parcels, this is due to a technical error.

We are now aware of this and working with the US YouShop warehouse team to get these parcels shipped as soon as possible.

On behalf of New Zealand Post and the US YouShop warehouse team I would like to apologise for the frustrations and inconveniences caused to you by this delay.
