My daughter decided at bed time last night she wanted to "cut daddys hair". I got a rinse and shampoo, but what made me LOL was the fact that when it came time to cut my hair, the "scissors" went "BOING, BOING BOING".

I can't wait to find out if my Barber can get a pair in his shop that do the same thing. I think the sound improved the quality of the cut!

Ordering something from Amazon and paying the cheapest/longest delivery-time courier cost - only to have the package turn up just outside the timing of the most expensive/quickest option.

That often happens. I bought a partial replacement cover for a Harmony One and was given a choice between expensive new and pristine, less expensive slightly used, and very cheap battered and bruised. I chose the latter. It arrived new and pristine.

That is worth knowing - but I guess you can't bank on that happening.

I discussed this with the mayor, who promptly organised a one person citizenship ceremony in her office just for me rather than wait the several weeks until the scheduled one. That gave me the certificate and registration number required in order to apply for a NZ passport.

The next day, my wife took my completed form to Wellington and dropped it off. She collected the new passport at 4pm the same day - at no extra charge. Very impressive.

My renewal of that passport took a wee bit longer but was still only a week or so.

That the guys from Independent Line Services here in Chch managed to change out the concrete power pole beside our driveway and replace it with a new wooden one, all live!

(Apparently the type of concrete one is prone to failure!)

No power outage at all!

Great teamwork, presentation of them and their vehicles, and completely cleaned up when finished.

Very good to see.

(I did phone their Head Office to say so to.)
