dejadeadnz: As usual they acknowledge these emails from me but just can’t seem to control these fraudsters. And that’s after escalating to the CEO’s office.

Contact the media? There's a bunch of people on here who have reported similar problems, maybe others would volunteer to be interviewed...

Section 228 of the Crimes Act 1961 might also be worth a look.

In terms of going to the media, the most important thing would be to get a paper trail for everything. Never call them, do everything via email or paper mail, record dates, times, and names for every interaction, etc.

SirHumphreyAppleby:

Section 228 of the Crimes Act 1961 might also be worth a look.

You're not wrong. The driver and the contractor that employs them are potentially both dishonestly using a document to obtain a pecuniary advantage. As a lawyer and someone well experienced in handling escalated complaints, I am mostly disappointed by NZP's response so far.

The latest update is that I got a bit fad up and gave their regional manager a blast by phone. A pretty terse conversation resulted -- it suffices to say that he's a little bit less guarded than the person from the CEO's office. Both the contractor who owns my local area (and by extension their drivers) are gone. What annoyed me was (most people don't understand the Privacy Act and how it works) the CEO office and regional manager's collective spiel about how they can't say anything about my neighbour's package despite my neighbour's choice to provide me with all the information. They keep insisting that this time the driver is telling the truth. My neighbour ended up making her own complaint -- she simply wasn't home and their driver's story is again made up.

Thew CEO office's person also wrote back to me very formally. I don't doubt she's sincere and is by and large doing her best. But there's still very little grasp of the fact that we are only where we are most likely because of how aggressively I was pushing. Plus the fact that the gave the stupid and fradulent contractor way too many chances and only ever seem to handle issues when people (a) complain and (2) aggressively push their case beyond their useless call centre and local staff.

Slightly OT - a package arrived from the States addressed to me in Auckland. It arrived then left NZ and now sitting in Italy.

Courier Post is just disgracefully useless. USPS took less than 7 days to transport my Fuji XT-4 Wasabi (aftermarket) batteries into NZ. And those idiots sat on them for 4 days before delivering. One thing I notice as well with NZP/CP is that when they are in the wrong/being useless, ringing up their call centre to complain achieves nothing. If they want to deliver it to you, they will. If they don't give a crap, they won't.

PBT sat on another package of mine for 2 days at the delivery depot. I rang them up and nicely spoke with the CSR. At 6.30pm the courier turns up to deliver my item. You can tell they went out of their way to get the courier to do her job.

My boy's game FINALLY arrived today, almost 4 months after we originally ordered it.

Worst. Delivery. Ever...but he was certainly happy to get it, finally.

So an update on my situation with NZP, a new contractor is in place for my area. New van and I can tell from the fact that their driver actually rings the door bell when delivering non-signature required items instead of just throwing it down. Meanwhile, I somehow missed the last communication from their person at the CEO's office, which was quite a LOL. When backed into the corner, they just resort to BS - "Yes yes we responded really quickly to your complaints second time round [after I had to escalate to the CEO's office for 5 instances of fraud initially, I might add]!" but no answer on why they allowed the head contractor to remain after my initial complaint.

So, to sum up, many hours of uncompensated work from me later, our community is rid of a total scumbag contractor. No thanks, NZP.

Are Courier Post parcel deliveries still happening to PO Boxes in Auckland under level 3? I was getting a new Spark router sent to me, meant to be last week - but nothing yet. Regular mail is still turning up however.

We had an email at work about some issues causing a 1-2 day backlog on parcels in Auckland. Also if its a lobby that is normally staffed then the couriers may not have access to it when unstaffed to handover the parcels
