I just had a couple of T-Shirts delivered via DPD - the tracking on Amazon's web page showed nothing since they arrived at the carrier facility on the 6th of Feb until they were delivered yesterday morning (12 days later) - no left country, no arrived in destination country, no out for local courier.

The goods did arrive a day before they said they would, but the information was pretty slack in between them leaving Amazon and arriving here.

Yeah, DPD just do not do tracking. When the parcel reaches NZ, it is handed on to a local firm. If they use fastway, you might get last mile tracking from them but not if they use another.

I see that DPD do not appear on the list of carriers on Amazon's tracking info pages. I do not know if that means that they are being dropped or if they are not there just because they do not do tracking.

Yeah, about half an hour before it arrived on my desk, I tried using the tracking number on Fastways page - nothing.

Just glad it arrived.

I have been refunded for the two failed DPD shipments and I have re-ordered one of the items against the refund.

Amazon customer services say that they have added a note to my account to say that DPD should not be used for future orders so I will see how this one goes.

I ordered some Anker cables in March last year, and they were sent via DPD to me. What a palaver - the tracking information exchange between DPD and Amazon was astonishingly bad, and eventually I started getting automated emails saying my address could not be found. Escalating with Amazon had very little result - their information was no better than what I could see. I expected to never see the cables... but they did turn up in the delivery window.

Yesterday my daughter ordered from Amazon and it shipped today.... via DPD. Will 11 months on make a different in experience?

I must be lucky in that I have never had any issues with DPD failing to deliver, and generally far earlier than the Amazon estimate. Latest example was yesterday where a package pitched up a week early.

Having said that, like others have said on this thread, their tracking is appalling. See how it goes, I have 5 more packages scheduled between now and Mar 13, all with DPD.

and in other news, my daughters package which was scheduled for delivery 8 March arrived just now... 7 days after ordering. Looking at the Order on Amazon, the level of detail at each stage is certainly spartan, but because I wasn't following it zealously, it didnt make an impact.

Thankfully the courier found my suburb in wellington... after being here for 116 years I guess the records were eventually updated... I'd say that was a pretty good outcome.

The real gap in experience is the level of detailing as the package wends it way from Amazon and their support procedures for when a package appears to go awol... ie the usual stuff that drives people nuts.

If you use AmazonGlobal Priority shipping you will get DHL or USPS that are trackable. Otherwise most Standard or Expedited shipping orders fulfilled by Amazon are DPD. Items not fulfilled by Amazon are shipped by someone else.

Items that say AmazonGlobal Shipping in the checkout, that is fulfilled by Amazon.

I have seen when the item has arrived in NZ it says:

Shipped with DPD

This is confusing as all USPS packages go to CourierPost to be delivered. Fastway deliver all "DPD" Packages. I think it is USPS and Fastway sharing the job.

However although DPD does not have a United States reference, there is a DPD Intl. service, since DPD do not have any depots in the US, they just pass it onto USPS, then ship it via Fastway when it hits NZ.

Email cis@amazon.com and say it is untraceable and slow and they will give you a shipping refund.

A quick summary from me as I have been adding to my woodworking tool collection with 6 separate orders. Five sent DPD, one by DHL.

All DPD deliveries were a week to 10 days earlier than forecast when the order was placed.

Last bit of tracking is always when the item leaves the Carrier Facility (US). Goods have then been delivered either 6 or 7 calendar days later.

Single delivery from DHL was late. Package originated San Fran - sent to LA then weirdly Cincinnati - Hong Kong - Auckland.

Cheers,

Finally got a new way of tracking DPD parcels out of Amazon.

This link https://wndirect.com/tracking-dpd.php works with the tracking ID on the amazon page -- it's quite barebone, but it does at least give you the fastway ref number which you can then track in NZ.

Thanks for that but for me this does not work. I just get:

No tracking information found

Please check your reference numbers.
