MadEngineer: Being told there are restrictions on NZC collections or deliveries for Auckland due to the train derailment
https://help.nzcouriers.co.nz/service-updates/domestic-delivery-updates
Busy time of the year, sounds like they're balancing their load.
Anyone else waiting on packages from Australia?
Parents sent me packages, international express, on 30th November and 6th December and according to AusPost they landed in NZ 10th and 11th December respectively and no updates since then. Meanwhile NZ Post tracking of those same packages still say "International Departure"..
I assume its backlogged in customs or something, oh well..
WTH NZ Post?
"We're currently assessing the packaging of your parcel which may push out its delivery date. Please continue to track your parcel for further movement or alternatively, please contact the sender."
Broken packages make me very sad..

Awaiting a book from AU.... took 2 months for order to finally be filled (was a delay in printing), then a week for AU post to finally pick it up, and nothing since....... I'm doubting I'll see it before Xmas and I'm worried it'll turn up while I'm away and be left in the elements. :(

Not from Australia, but have one from China EMS which according to EMS tracking arrived in the country on a China Southern Airlines flight a week ago, and times roughly match an aircraft on FR24 so probaby correct.
Still not been handled by NZ Post.
Strangely I have some Aliexpress parcels bought, umm, not even 2 weeks ago I think, apparently sitting in my PO Box today. Completely unpredictable how long things take to make it through the mail centre.

I sell lots of stuff for electronic enthusiasts...
Yeah, my mum also sent a package to my sister in Auckland on 6th December, using international standard, and it cleared customs yesterday. So it seems like a lottery as to what makes it through. The irony is that I had to buy presents in Australia because there's no stock in NZ..
I'm going to have to explain to my 4 year old daughter that some presents from Santa have been delayed due to coronavirus so hopefully she wont be too upset
Looks like the person I'm trying to send to will need to pay to receive their parcel. Weird. Never seen this before.

Or they are getting scammed by one of the usual "you have a parcel waiting" spams.

No, that's what the tracking site says.

If it was the flight last Friday, I had a package on there as well. Likewise still not handed over to NZ Post and NZ Post tracking still shows International Departure from Guangzhou.
I bought a couple of Shelly relays on 28 Nov shipped from Europe. I added the tracking number to NZ post but it says no tracking, which I expected but they normally do a delivery scan. Anyway I signed up for notifications and this time its sending updates. I've had "Arrived in NZ" "In transit to local depot" (Today). But oddly no updates are shown on site under tracking.
They might be here before Christmas which will be unexpected.
Yes I saw the local mailman zipping around yesterday (Sunday!) in his electric-cart-thing delivering mail.
They're pretty inconsistent at the moment. Back on December 10 I ordered from PB Tech a wireless mouse for the wife. It's now sitting in Hamilton with Waiting for courier. On Dec 11th I ordered a USB drive enclosure from them and it arrived next day.
Both items were shipped from PB tech the nite of ordering.
