New case ordered from PB Tech on the 1st of May. Collected from sender on the 2nd of May. Sat at 'processing' until this morning, when the item was delivered to my front door. Now I'm getting all the NZ Post updates coming in 😀. 1 week exactly from purchase to delivery, Auckland to Hamilton. Considering the amount of stress both PB Tech and the courier companies must be under, I'll call it a success. It was overnight delivery, but that doesn't mean anything these days.

Good timing too. Just sold all my other pc cases. Would've had to revert back to the Fujitsu work laptop.

Well I messaged Courierpost on Facebook, let's see how long that takes to get a response.

Funnily enough I called them last Saturday and talked to them about my parcel, yet when I tried calling again this morning apparently it's after hours (and it sounds like they've changed their phone message so they're not open on Saturdays anymore either).

I am waiting on a package from Christchurch which is being sent via CourierPost. The tracking system is showing it having been collected from the sender on Thursday, and arriving at Christchurch airport later on that same day, with estimated delivery to my Porirua address on this coming Tuesday.

It will be interesting to see whether they actually deliver as per that estimate.

Give it two working days then complain on their twitter page as well - both about the lack of response on facebook and difficulty contacting them

You do know acting like that will just compound the issues their contact centre must be facing?

I think it’s common knowledge that there are delays in freight providers networks. Bombarding a call centre asking for info that is already visible via tracking won’t help. It would be highly unlikely the item has been lost so just be patient and it’ll turn up when it will turn up.

If you must complain, complain to your retailer. It’s they who have the relationship with the freight provider. Not you as the receiver.

One of my work colleagues was told that if the parcel is small and can be scanned and sorted automatically it will be fast, if it is large or odd shaped it will take time.

This was purchased via Trademe around April 20. I asked to get it sent to my PO Box as it was secure, not knowing that deliveries aren't happening there, due to none of the Post Offices being open.

After hearing nothing for a few days, I contacted the seller who obliged with the tracking number. I called them on April 27 and asked to get it redirected to my home address as I'm here. This was requested but for some reason it sat in their system for a week doing absolutely zero. Again after hearing nothing I called them on Friday May 1 and asked what was going on. She said she wasn't sure why the redirection didn't happen but she would "open a case". I got a text last Sunday saying once it had been actioned, it would be redelivered in "the next few days". That's the last response I had, and their tracking system still says "redirection requested" and nothing else.

They say on their phone system 90% of parcels are being delivered on time. I guess I must fall into the 10%, although why it would take over a week to redirect something across the North Shore (even when they're as busy as they are) is a mystery to me.

Here's how my one looks. Note the date of the last transaction. Nothing since then.

Slightly off topic but related im sorry.

I read an article in stuff yesterday talking about the Couriers and the pressure they are currently under,.

They mentioned that Aramex (used to be Fastaway) are actually actively currently recruiting "casual" courier drivers currently. Where you sign up online and become a sort of Courier Uber driver.

Online you sign up, give your details, provide vehicle insurance details, Do a police check(which appears to be via a Aussie website) do a small test and then submit. Yes I know I actually thought id be able to do some courier driving. However the test ended up in a loop and I cant get out of it. I wasnt keen on the Aussie Police check website.

Ill post a separate thread on this as well

Not sure why this has become a third world service when it surely cant be as busy as Christmas time rush? Even before the lockdown NZ Post courier service was becoming less reliable than it should be. Customers are paying good money for this service yet its failing and without notice or apology.

A Trade Me buyer of mine still hasn't received their item after 16 days (Hamilton-Christchurch). To their credit, a Fastway customer experience agent (CEA) responded to my email within 2 days, and now the item is on board for delivery.

Busier than Christmas time, reportedly. In saying that, I'm waiting for a few orders to even be dispatched, so suspect some distributors are also struggling with demand.
