I had one negative feedback on my account - from 2005.

Just got a message from trademe saying that feedback has been deleted because that person was banned today.

+1 for a long term perspective.

Win.

They started doing that 2-3 years ago, anyone who had placed negatives, and then had their own account disabled, the negatives got removed.

I had a couple of negatives, both removed due to the above...

Was it a far negative just out of interest?

We had something similar done to ours, but it was only after like a day or something that he got banned. Quite a laugh.

You mean a win as in against trademe themselves? those are few and far between. I would go as far to say the trademe team make me bang my head against the wall.

Not really. The buyer had indicated they were going to fail the 'must pick up by' conditions of the sale and I had said ok that's fine, I'll relist, and they left a negative feedback about that.

I have one negative, the trader got banned, and even after contacting Trade Me, they still won't remove the negative.

I kind of assumed the person had repeated the exact same behavior multiple times and had been banned for that same reason. In reality anything is possible.

In the TradeMe notification email it says:

"We don't believe feedback from banned members should count, so we have removed it from your membership. Please note, this will not affect any positive feedback you have received."

It is a good idea for a whole lot of reasons.

The way the email says it is a clear policy.

No, I didn't ask. Just got the mail today.

I reckon Give them a call and tell them you have bad feedback from a banned user and they'll delete it. Maybe the automated part of the process is only recent.
