I have just bought a car with a japanese radio/satnav/tv/etc

No that interested in being able to operate the satnav as I am not based in Tokyo, but I am interested in knowing what the buttons on the control panel say.

If I were to take a photo of said radio, is there anyone here that could give me a diagramatical list of the labels on the buttons?

Much appreciated.

Jason

Google translate might be able to do it if you try the translate document option.

I know a little bit. I can't promise anything but it shouldn't hurt to post the photo anyway :)

Awesome.

Thanks all.

Will take a picture tonight and post it up

The good thing is, I can read one button: CARWINGS
Unfortunately that's the name of the satnav function.

I worked in Tokyo for 3 years before coming here in NZ.
I told myself then that I will be fluent in Japanese.
My Japanese manager is now fluent in English.

Have you pressed it yet? You never know it 'might' be the decendant of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Hopefully its not one of the Pioneer ones which come with some Japanese Honda's, while parts can be set to English the rest simply can't. Something to do with them being more a satnav system with audio than an audio system with satnav, if that makes sense.

That makes complete sense.

I think that's what this is...a Sat Nav with a radio/CD/TV built in.

You can take a photo with the Google Translate smartphone app and it will translate text within the photo.

So the one next to "TV-AUX" is settings.
and since GZ won't do the other characters... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090807030635AAt4EkQ

Sadly, no symbol for Language that I can see in the 300 menu structures on the system, but I have now paired my phone by Bluetooth and changed the GPS maps to a different part of Japan.
