I have a site hosted at www.webhostingnz.com, it appears the site is down at the moment.  Anyone else with this web host?  If so do you know how long it has been down and whether it will come back?

Their own server is down. You should try and find a contact number and call them to check.

It has been down for me since yesterday around 4pm.

I noticed in the last week that it has been up and down a lot. NOT HAPPY.

I think it is a case of you get what you pay for. I believe they are a brand of Aotea, which was on Fair Go twice over the last few years. If you saw that, they are based in England not NZ.

I will be transferring everything once they come back up.  I did track the phone number down but it just rings with noone picking up.

Have you tried emailing them. Do they have a 'status' page, service RSS feed, twiittr of facebook, where they keep people up to date?

Their email is linked to the server and they can not check their mails. I am not aware of any social networking links. I guess I will start searching for those. It is very frustrating and I will be writing a very nice review scaring any future clients away.

On Fair Go, they said that it was all run out of the UK, and Bruce was the person Kevin spoke to. They are probably in bed at this time of the day.

Try doing a traceroute of your domain or the IPs of the DNS settings, to  see where it is hosted, and then contact the datacentre. They should know what is going on.

Ok did the traceroute and got a company to call by the name of Vibe Communications.

They're looking into the server now but it seems as though it maybe going to an US company

The trail gets even more windy now.

My site www.intiques.co.nz is still down.  not sure what to do, it has been nearly 24 hours now.  you would think they would at least send out regular email updates.   not sure what to do, I only joined webhostingnz.com a week ago.  A lot of users will probably shift their hosting as a result of this so maybe i should stay sith them, might end up with my own dedicated server.  I really had no complaints with their ease of setup and service before this.  However this is not just a brief outage.  Ok i am looking for some recommendations now.
