What are you hoping to get this year?
A cheap netbook? Cheap TV? Router? HDD? Half price bath towels from Briscoes?

What's on everyone's wishlist?

Dunnersfella: Half price bath towels from Briscoes?

You don't need Boxing Day sales for this. It seems like every single weekend is a sale weekend at Briscoes...

Yeah, up to 30% off 50% too much, and when its any better all the good stuff is all "sold out" only to come back later, and they will usually lose your raincheck if you bother IME.

Probably pick up some Blu-ray movies if they're on special, maybe a couple of games.

Do Boxing Day sales matter anymore? As it seems there is a sale every weekend now with decent specials.

Agree! Boxing Day sales aren't as great as they used to be. Every week there is a sale on and it has made Boxing Day sales a bit of a non-event. Still, a good time to buy but I wouldn't worry if I missed out.

I was hoping this year to get a netbook, but I'm going to Christchurch in the new year for a holiday so every last cent is being kept :/

Wonder where all the open box returns that places like DSE will take back go to when they have the boxing day returns of gifts?

I think I will avoid all forms of retail this year. Might even watch the cricket.

I think they box them up as well as they can and sell them slightly cheaper. I got my 3rd computer that way. Was $500 on sale, bargained another $70 off because it was already used, and got an extended warranty with it. Lol. It was in mint condition, dont even think they turned it on because it needed to be set up and all. Still a good bargain. Was the last one in Auckland too if I remember and I had to drive to DSE near the city to get it.
