Hi,
Hoping someone will be able to help me with my friend's query. They phoned up for an ADSL connection but were told that they were not able to be serviced. When asked I looked up on the Chorus map and their property is just on the edge of the >1Mb/s zone. Their closest cabinet is OHA/G which is approximately 1km away but the >1Mb/s zone extends out to a 4km stub in the opposite direction from that cabinet. I am hoping that someone in the know will be able to tell me/us to a fuller extent what the limitations of this location are. This neighbour is in a dip and cannot get RBI wireless, and would like to avoid satellite as the telephone service will be unacceptable. Members with suitable industry tags can PM for the address.

Cheers

It may also be that the conklin systems are currently full and cant have additional connections @ this time.

There are actualy two cabinets that feed that area - OHA/G, which looks like the most logical for distance, and OHA/J (they both have a shared cable along Honkiwi Rd and your friends service might be off J) but it looks like OHA/G is the only one with DSL service.

Haveing a closer look @ the Chorus map it looks like the boundary of OHA/G cabinets reach has been drawn along the 'Official' property boundary of your friends road and not the actual road so more than likely they will be included in G's Area, as the area extends further along Honkiwi Rd away from the Cabinet.
