jaredwatts: I just changed to NZNet. Very disappointed - I'm getting dialup level speeds in the afternoon. Have a download from Apple currently in the background going at 60KB/sec, using VPN into my network at work I get 1.4MB/sec (my line limit). It looks like NZNet are just reselling Hosting Directs ADSL service based off the trace routes.[snip]

Based off this I would be weary of the service offered by Hosting Direct as well. Though if you are trying to decide between NZNet and Hosting Direct, seems like NZNet are just putting a premium on top of the Hosting Direct price and offering no other benefits, so may as well go with Hosting Direct.
athor: Maybe this is not a issue with NZNet.
I am with vodafone and the last 4 of 5 days can only get max 200kb/s international. Same with my other friend on vodafone, and my other friend on orcon.
