Using it at present.  Very fast on this  site compared to Opera and Firefox. Not compatible with some of our apps at work

Yes, using it to reply to your post. It is fast indeed and I found no problems with other sites.

I wouldn't say the average user would notice any difference on their normal experience with Internet banking, auction sites, etc...

Well, I have to say I am dissapointed. First impressions are it looks great and is definetly faster, but it is missing some important aspects (IMO) and things that should be standard.

It is missing a Control Panel type interface for your bookmarks. To me this is standard and should be included on any browser. Drag and Drop is not enough for organising a large quantity of bookmarks.

It doesn't have it's own Network Settings. It uses the Windows/IE settings panel??

And one big problem for me, which is the reason I don't use Safari on my PC, anytime you want to open a bookmark that is linked to a word document or excel file it will first download the file to your computer and then you can open it. Thus leaving a file on your computer which you may not need again, or certainly don't want to have saved to your computer. I open excel files every day, that are updated every day by other people. I can't just use a local copy otherwise I would have saved that local copy in the first place. This is one big issue for me that will stop me from using it and is the reason I have to use IE at work. There really should be an optional setting for this.

Cheers

Ive been using for the last 5 mins, not terribly impressed. Its definetly a LOT slower here than firefox3, that might be because of our ISA server however? I tried smaps, it didnt work out so well, type in a name of a street, click on the autofill information and it searches for only what you had typed? anyone else having that problem?  And wheres the scroll wheel clicking gone? (i cant scroll up and down by clicking the scroll wheel).. oh and no right click spell check either

What can I say.. it works. Not bad for a first beta.. but nothing really compelling to make me excited or to think about making a switch.

Used it in my VM. I am not impressed to say it beats all other browsers. Its just another browser.

(P.S: I am happy with the IE8 beta 2 though Laughing)

I know of two more people having the scroll wheel click issue, but mine works perfectly fine. Even Flash is working, something I wasn't expecting to see yet.

It appears very lean and fast.
Minamalistic approach by the looks.
No "plug Ins" as in FF3
Title bar doesnt appear to have much options.
1st impressions good all the same

does the eula concern anyone else? or do I need to take my tinfoil fat off?

It is scary, but that never put me off. But I think they will be forced to change if it catches on.

As to the clean look, I'm liking it so far.

how does the memory usage stack up to the bloat of the others? does the multithreading make a noticible difference?

I've used it on a virtual machine inside VMware, and I did feel a difference to IE7. Don't have FF3 installed on it, so I can't compare to FF3 yet.

I'm not sure what it is, maybe it is the way it maximises real estate - but sites seems to just look really nice in this browser!

Never been a fan of Firefox, always used alot of IE and a bit of Opera, but I have to say my first impression of this browser has been very positive!

So if I do my internet banking through their browser, they own the rights to publish my account balances?
