I think @timbonz comments were more like there's no complexity in two options per colour.

Ok, so this is different from your previous quote of "The NZ Store has SS, as that is what the carriers in the region who are launching them want" seeing the inventory is not managed by operators, but Microsoft.

I am not interested in DS for that matter, but interested to understand the stories companies create.

You only need 1 SKU - DS Black (The Henry Ford any colour you want so long as it's black) and if you only have 1 sim you don't need to use the other slot and can pretend you have the SS model.

the things I've told you are the same.

DS is not being carried because of the additional complexity of bringing more SKUs into the region.

Microsoft can also do some unwelcome decisions, and that's cool. Just need to own up.

Their business model is the same

Trying to not become a dumbed down provider of plumbing

Sure the end customer is infact a customer as well, but most people buy their devices thru a telco, so the telco controls what the customer can do and buy

Once again dual SIM is available, you just need to parallel import it

Maybe there's a business opportunity for someone here to import dual SIM and sell them to you all

It is my understanding (maybe I am mistaken) that software updates and new releases are dependent on the channel that sells the phone ie if purchased via telecom (spark) 2 degrees or vodafone then releases are dependent on those companies releasing them. If purchased from Microsoft then they are released directly form them, this leads to the next issue, if you purchase from parallel imports who did they get it from? normally not an issue except in this case it may affect your system updates.

I am guessing but if you sign up to be a beta tester you would bypass this restriction to updates?

This doesn't happen in W10M monthly servicing updates come directly from MSFT
