Hi everyone,

Just a quick note that the E90 Communicator is now being sold at coolmobile. Price is currently a staggering $1999, but expect that to fall rapidly in the ensuing price war once the other parallel stores pick it up. ScottPalmer have you got yours yet?

What a coincidence I stumble upon this thread now - I very nearly started one today after finding the old one locked due to inactivity. No I haven't got one yet - there are a fair few on Ebay now and I emailed PI today to ask when they expect theirs. I'm not going to rush into it, I'd rather source an Aus / NZ model from a reputable source where possible. But does anyone know of a trustworthy Hong Kong or elsewhere online store that will ship phones to NZ?

CoolMobile (notice the significant price drop from $1999 to $1699) expected their stock yesterday but it didn't arrive, Parallel Imported expect theirs "in the next few weeks".

buy.com are the cheapest I have found internationally with Dell (why Dell??) not far behind.

There are plenty of choices on Ebay including at least one in Australia with others in Singapore, Hong Kong and the U.S. of A. TradeMe even has a few options starting to surface . . . .

Damn it I want one now!!!!!

I wonder if the Dell website has listed the price correctly, it is about USD400 less than anyone else (except buy.com)!

Probably be another 4 months beofre a "reputable" NZ source picks one up...

Yes those 2 USA prices seem very cheap, Expansys UK now have a price which is far higher than buy.com and Dell which also adds to the mystery.

Parallel Imported have come to the party, no stock yet though.

Anyone brought one from anywhere yet? Anyone getting close?

Edit: Cool Mobile now down to $1599

I had a play with one at PI, they wouldn't let me turn it on but I was very impressed with the keyboard. I had a fear that the whole unit was going to be too small (believe it or not) to be worth being "big" but this wasn't the case.

I'm getting real close to buying one, I've got some charger adaptors and a 4GB card on order, I'm still tossing up between PI and ebay.com (user X1387) or waiting for Voda to bring it here.

Anybody else??

Its down to around $1400 or slightly less on Trademe.

Get one now, don't wait for a horrible Vodafone branded one (slow firmware upgrade etc etc).

I plan to pick one up when I am overseas next month at some stage.    But I want to try out the keyboard 1st.

Why did PI not want to power one up?  sounds bizarre.

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunatley Vodafone NZ does not have any information regarding the handset release for this model, however please visit our website for more information in the near future.

The one in East Tamaki wanted to keep it a blanket rule to save it getting pounded by testers and risked being dropped etc. (They did let me look at it hands on though.) He did state that was only the policy in their particular store, others may be different.

Where overseas do you plan to get one?

Not entirely sure yet.  I am off to several parts of Europe, Canada and USA, plus various stop over points, so once I finalize my itineray I will try to figure out where is cheapest.

Yeah my decision isn't totally price orientated, ebay user X1387 has plenty of good reports on the web and even photos from a happy customer here which is all very reassuring. PI's 12 month warranty would be nice though.

Has anyone bought this phone?  If so, please give us a review of sorts!:)

I wonder if it can really replace a laptop in terms of its ability to surf the web and send e-mails.
