Hi team, I need to dip into your experience pool.

I want to religate my Asus 1210 to a work phone and get a WM phone with a camera for personal use. Currently my JasJar is my work (desk) phone (it's too large to use in public as a phone without children pointing, staring and laughing). The only things I do with it are work calls and remote desktop, so I'm after a PDA that will connect through the Asus (bluetooth) while also paired with a Stowaway keyboard, to do remote desktop tasks at a better resolution and not have the bulk when on the move.

So the recommendations I'm after (if such a device exists) is a 800 x 600 WM PDA (5 or 6, I'm not that fussed) with Bluetooth & WiFi and a WM phone with a camera (that's not made by HTC).

Not made by HTC? Good luck. Also if you get a PDA and wan't to connect via Bluetooth make sure it's not a Pocket PC Phone Edition (Windows Mobile 6 Professional) because it seems these ones with phone won't have the Bluetooth DUN profile to connect to another phone - at least not the ones I tried to test.

thanks for the warning. the intention is to get a Simple PDA (no phone function) as a screen for RDP, and a separate smartphone fo the voice.

I know you are after separate phone and pda, but have you considered the Toshiba G900? This one got the screen resolution you are after (WVGA) and it's smaller than the JasJar. Not sure of the availability or pricing.

Cheers, looks nice, but is 800x480, where I'm after 800x600. The remote desktop mostly is restrictive in height rather than width (many application designers do not consider VGA any more), so I'm wanting to cover that gap.

my wish item, the iPod touch runnning WM6 with BlueTooth. Had a play with one and it was just what I was after, a thin, big, touch screen, if only it ran WM6 and had BlueTooth. Do you know of such a device (800 x 600)?

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, just announced. Sony Ericsson jumps on to the Windows Mobile train.

There maybe customised solution for 800x600 Windows CE device, but you won't see a 800x600 Windows Mobile 6 device... It takes a long time for WM manufacturer to get VGA screen... so for 800x600 will be really rare... the best there is 800x480 *Toshiba*.

Another device which connects to WM phones is one that said to be Palm Folio-clone, Celio Redfly, mobile companion. It doesn't have much on itself as all the guts and operation are carried out on the cellphone, and "RDP" to the mobile device. You basically interfacing the keyboard and screen from the cellphone.

Thank you both for you input, the redfly is the most promising. I have learned from my JasJar experience that I do not want the phone built-in. Do you have any idea who the reseller for redfly are in NZ?
