Right...I've finally upgraded to the latest firmware available to VFNZ phones - 110.07.127. Now I'm trying to install SmartConnect, which I think is a fundamental piece of software - it should really be part of the firmware feature.

Anyway, I have installed it from Download! but I'm still getting the error which says the phone is not licensed to run this app. I have also downloaded it from Birdstep.com, and opened the file in File Manager like they suggested. Unfortunately that opened it in some kind of editor instead of running a setup/installation of some sort. I just got a screen full of garbage instead.

Has anyone succesfully installed and run this app?

Cheers,
Dany.

I use it and have done so on other S60 devices as well. It was a paid commercial app that Nokia have licenced to be a free download, I can only assume somewhere that it doesn't like the product code you have and believes it's not authorised to run.

The file from birdstep is presumably the .dbf which is only a licence code for the application and available on their FAQ page? This presumably might fix your issue.

I don't have a NZ product code on my phone - johnr might be able to help you and tell you if it works with his NZ handset.

Thanks for that - I will try using that DBF file tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity I wonder what's special in the v200 firmware...

Quite a bit. Google the version number and you'll see plenty of sites with the changelog.
