Hi gang!

Probable a dumb question, but I have to ask anyway: can I use all kinds of epoc software on this phone? I mean, I lknow that Epoc is mainly used on Psion series handhelds. I've been downloading and looking at some titles and wanted to know for sure that the software is compatible.

Also, how is the data for the phone? I mean, is the gprs fast enough as far as emails, lite web browsing, etc...is concerned? I know that T-mobile (my subscriber) has the unlimited $19.99 thing going, but I'll probably just use the 1mb $2.99 option just to play around with it.

Thanks

You can't, some parts of the interface are different. You have to find specific versions for Symbian Series 60. Look in our frontpage for the Handango link, or in our links section.

The GPRS seems to be ok. As a modem it's the same as my previous mobile phone, but as a browser and html browser it's very fast. Opera works very well. The fonts used are very clear to read!

Thanks! I've been scouring Handango and can't believe all the software for the 3650!

As for Opera, does this browser only work with data/gprs, or can it work using my moble minutes? I've tried gprs on my (soon to be pushed to backup phone) Sony Ericsson T300 and was not impressed. Maybe I didn't have anything setup right or what, but the connect was unbearable slow!

Something was problem causing a problem on your GPRS conneciton. The GSM data connection will eat your minutes (as you know), but at no more than 9.6kbps. GPRS is around 42kbps (some networks peak at 53kbps).

But, yes, Opera will work on GSM data connections if you want.

Are there complicated settings needed for gprs connections? My 3650 will be with T-Mobile

No big problems. The connection applet is very easy to use, and if you get the phone from T-Mobile it should be ready to go. Otherwise I'm sure you can ask them to send a SMS with the configuration.
