Over $1 billion in 3 days and I have to be honest they deserve it. I have to say I'm only a wee bit into it and would already put it at the top of my favourite games list. How's everybody else finding it? Are there any iOS users out there who have the iFruit app? What's that like? Also what's the blimp like? I didn't pre-order it so I missed out on that.

Hah funny, we both created a thread at the same time :) I'll kill mine and comment here...

So who's playing and what do you think?

I'm about 20% through the main story so far - just coming up on my 2nd big heist.

Really loving this game. The city is just insanely detailed! The NPC's are awesome, the vehicles handle way better than GTAIV, and the combat is vastly improved.

The 3 character dynamic is great - especially during the action set pieces.

Can't wait to see how the story plays out.

Not sure how far through I am (just started with the Trevor character), but loving it :)
Enjoying just driving around looking at the scenery etc.

Its amazing how much theyve packed into it.

Ive got the iFruit app, neat idea but not necessary.

Have the blimp code but havent actually activated it yet.... anyone know how it works ? Is the blimp just always available at an airport for you to use ?

You'll be about 10-15% through.  I checked once Trevor arrived in LS and it was 19%.  The whole main story probably takes up about 50% of the actual game I reckon, then the rest is all challenges and side missions.

You just ring up the blimp company and they send one out to like the race horse track (I think that's what it is) then you can just fly around in it.

have to say the cops in GTA5 are WAY more aggressive and persistent than any other version. Two stars is enough to get a really epic chase going. The only way i've found to lose them is to go off road or on to side streets....or even under the freeway...but it's nearly impossible to lose them by staying on normal roads.

Also once you get a police chopper involved your best bet is to shoot down the chopper before you do anything else, because it'll just stay on you forever otherwise.

Looks good from what I've seen of it. Now if I just had a computer with enough spec to run it...

Oh hell yes, the cops are insane.... got into an epic shootout with the tac' squad when trying to obtain their van/guns for the first heist :)

I have out run a chopper once... by accident... went up the top of a hill and accidentally drove off the other side, took a huge fall in the car (which survived somehow) and lost the cops :D

I find it easy enough to lose the cops -- outrun the chopper on a long straight, and hide in a spot hidden from the road.  Hiding in recesses didn't work so well in previous versions of GTA.

My opinion is that this version of GTA is one of the best games ever.   The ocean effects are awesome too.   I was up until 2am last night :(  Robbed the jewellery store. Wow! The character swapping is implemented so well.

It makes me wonder how great GTA 6 on the PS4 will be. Can't wait but at least i am entertained until then unless my PS3 melts .

Haha yeah I was really quite surprised there wasn't already a thread on this.

Couldn't agree with you more about the handling of the vehicles, I'd just come fresh from playing the EFLC (which made the first scene with Trevor quite a jaw dropper) so for a start I was crashing all over the place, they also seem to be a bit tougher though as I'm yet to crash a car enough to ignite it, also I'm yet to fly through the windshield like I used to every now and again in IV.

THIS. I spent 26 minutes trying to lose a three star wanted level, I couldn't believe it. That effing chopper!!!

Successfully made off with a 747 last night, then I accidentally hit triangle and fell to my death.

I'm nearing 55% completion (total), its been really good, the "Stranger and Freak" missions are quite good and the main story line has been excellent so far.

Need to have a bit more of a play with the stock market so I can purchase some of the million dollar properties.

JarrodM - you eventually get the parachute which you will automatically have anytime you get in a plane or helicopter, that helps alot.

Blimp is pretty average to be honest, have used it a couple of times, but much easier to boost a helicopter.

just gotten onto the second characters storyline after playing for, I guess, an hour or two.

Really enjoying it so far, but i'm still at the point where the city is utterly confusing and I have no idea where I am going. I have found with previous GTA games it really gets good once you start learning the cities, the shortcuts, etc.

My wife isn't too keen on the dialogue though. A vast amount of effing this and effing that. :D doesn't bother me though, but means I definitely can't play it until the kids have long gone to bed, which restricts me to no more than an hour or two a night.

yeah did the parachute training before it. I just didn't have enough altitude haha. yeah blimp is not good if you want to get somewhere fast.
