Thanks for taking your time and consideration reading this.

I have a Zyxel P-660HW D1 V2 DSL Router

This router is wired to a computer in my living area.

I have an computer in my office. Attached to it is a wireless adapter receiving a signal from the router.
In my office I have an Xbox 360. I went with the cheapest method of being able to connect to Xbox Live.

I have a Cat 5 (Ethernet Cable) running from the console into my desktop in my office.

The two connections are bridged.

I can connect to Live just fine, however. I seem to have a Strict Nat. Thus leading to connection issues, as well as a slower connection.

Apparently I need to open some ports on my routers settings. Though I've opened them. I've restarted the router. I've done everything I know. And still I end up with a Strict Nat.

I'm open to all different solutions. If it comes down to it. Team Viewer (Remote Desktop Control) is an option as well.

If you have UPnP on your router, and it's working properly, then your Xbox 360 should be able to open the necessary ports and give you an open NAT, without you having to do anything else. Is UPnP turned on in your router's configuration?

The other thing to check would be to plug the xbox 360 straight into your router and see if you get an open NAT. If so, then there's something going wrong with your bridging setup.

Yeah, I've got a UPnP. Everything it asks for is checked. It's on. If it's sort of hard for me to connect there Xbox 360 to the router directly is there anything else it could be? If not. Give me a few and I'll go unhook it and try that. Thanks for the help so far. I hope I can get this fixed :)

Unfortunately on some routers, UPnP just doesn't seem to work that well. You should be able to get open NAT to work with manual port forwarding though. Have you tried some of the guides off google for port forwarding on this model e.g. [http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/27815-42-zyxel-660hw-port-fowarding] or [http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ZyXEL/P-660HW-D1/Xbox_Live_360.htm]? If you've already tried that, and it's still not working, I would suggest as a next step testing the xbox 360 when it's plugged directly into your router.

After I plug it into the router what then? I've had it plugged in directly before and I had an Open Nat I believe. What would be the issue and hopefully the fix?

Edit : I've tried to manually open the ports and still no go.

Maybe you'll need to change your setup so you don't need the bridge? You could pick up a Linksys WRT54GL off TradeMe and use it that as your wireless bridge. Or you could get a separate wireless adapter for your xbox 360. Having said that, I've been able to connect my xbox 360 through a wireless bridge on my laptop using windows xp without any problems before.

Hmm perhaps. Though buying another router ATM is out of the question. I know I've used Internet Sharing Before. Though when I try it on Windows 7 I can't connect to Xbox Live period. With the bridge I can connect but have a Strict Nat.

I'm not using windows 7, but internet sharing usually adds another layer of NAT, so is no good for xbox live. Bridging the connections should work- not sure what the problem is there. Sorry I couldn't offer any more help.

I presume you are connecting the Xbox this way because you need distractions in your office and there is no way to run a cable out to the office. Did the Xbox work ok when wired directly to the router? It does sound like trouble with the windows bridge, because thats the only non-standard part of the link.

Time to find a new industry!

Next step would be to follow the (fairly complicated) instructions in this guide, if you haven't already [http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/27815-42-zyxel-660hw-port-fowarding]. You'll need to set up a static IP for your xbox 360, and remember to power cycle your router once you've made all your settings changes. Once you've got open NAT working with the xbox 360 connected directly, then move it back to where you had it and see if it works with the bridge setup as well.
