I recently purchased the Linksys Wireless N Home WAG120N and I've hooked it up correctly but I can't seem to establish a connection with the DSL light. I've tried hooking it up to different ends in my house with no improved results, however, my older modem works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Could you try unplugging all phones/sky/monitored alarm too?

Are you trying with or without an ADSL line filter?

it's going through a phone/adsl filter, although there's no phone plugged into it

I can't as all the ports in the house are phone outputs no adsl.

Take the cable out of the back of a phone handset and plug it into the back of your modem. That way you'll be able to plug the modem into a standard phone output.

yeah i tried that, but the dsl light still flashes, goes out then repeats. However my old modem works using that method

Had the same problem an a Telecom line in Tauranga with a Dynalink. ADSL would not sync. Gave up and put her old one back on and used the Dynalink at home in Auckland with no problems..

Yeah, I'm beginning to think it has something with my lines which is probably the worst possible thing

There is a setting for the modulation. What is this set to?

Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar of internet explorer and press enter - this should take you to the modem setup page. If it asks for a username and password, they will both be admin

On this page there should be an option for DSL Modulation. Try setting this to G.DMT and see if you get a DSL light that way.

It was set to Automatic but i changed it to G.DMT and now the dsl light is solid but the internet indicator is completely unresponsive
