Hi there

I need advice and or help on my new Spark WiFi modem (delivered in the last week) ... we have three connections available .. the two standard secure connections on 2.4 and 5 GHz bands which I understand.

The WiFi connection from the new modem that I don't understand is an open connection that is unsecured. I have spoken to a few technicians at Spark about this but don't get an answer that makes sense. Has anyone come across this ? What should I do ?

I have connected to the admin page of the modem in the usual way but this open connection cannot be accessed or seen.

When I power the modem off ... I see all connections on my mobile phone and they are marked as 'Not in range' as is usual when you are not near to the WiFi source.

Is this "Fon" by chance?

Your modem will be updated to the new firmware and that will disappear.

Nah its a feature that's turned off. But not in the Inital batch.

Unless op means the guest. Then they turned it on in the ui...

Reboot your modem. Will force it to happen. Otherwise dm me your serial number.

I also noticed this when I first set it up (was disabled) and now the option is gone, but I'm still for some reason seeing a WiFi network SSID SPARK_FON. I've not attempted to connect, but the signal strength lines up with my 2G and 5G options. Is it actually really disabled internally? Also, I live in an apartment amongst shops, so it's not someone else close by as far as I know. Can it be checked? (DM?).
