Help please,

I am trying to connect my Nokia 6600 handset with my desktop to allow me to use Nokia's PC Suite.

I have purchased a Microtune (Instantpan) Class2 USB Dongle which is packaged with the Widcomm Bluetooth software ver 1.3.2.7.

On install, my dongle has no problem locating and identifying the handset, and pairing presents no problem either. However, after searching I have no available serices, no matter what I try.

In config settings, under 'Local Services' there is no list at all.

Any ideas.

Paul G

This kind of problem may be associated with corruption in the registry entries related to your user information.

You can try this: create a new user with Administrator privileges. Log in as the new user, remove the Bluetooth software, reboot (and always as the new user), install the software again.

See if you have the services now.

If this is ok after the reinstall, then your user information is broken somehow - one of the Windows problems...

I'm having this exact problem! I'm wondering, however, if there's some other way to fix it, as I'd rather not create a whole new profile (and redo all my settings). Can someone help me here? Is there a simple key-set in the registry I can delete or something?

You don't have to use the new profile. After installing the Bluetooth software you can go back and keep using the old profile. You just need the new one so it can install the software.

Silly me :) Sorry

Just all new to this, and it seems a bit overly difficult. I ended up going with the IVT corporation Blue Soleil suite, as it actually got the thing working without the former hiccup. For some strange reason this seemed to hijack my soundcard (would you believe it?), and after a few hours I have finally got the sound working all the way again.

Man, I thought these BT things were supposed to be easy and seamless?

Thanks for the help, though.

If you want to check out the suite I ended up using (which seems nice) it's over at:

I thought the download from Bluesoleil was a demo limited to a few MB only?
