I suspect that if Vodafone was the official distributor, the stock has been delivered and is now just in limbo.

Vodafone won't deliver it to other retailers. Vodafone are probably not allowed to sell it themselves.

I doubt Apple monitors Geekzone. We were never in their radar. Vodafone staff knows already this thread will be full of complaints. So they won't bother. They will go back to their caves.

so where does this apple/vodafone spat rumour originate frmom? i had a look at the apple site, and vodafone is still listed as an official retailer.. you'd think apple would have removed it rather than still provide a live link to VF's site.. and maybe VF pulled the iphone4 info from it's site as it waits to update with new plans, pricing etc so perhaps using an old template? maybe..
