Kitanai: Need microSIM + 3G

There's nothing on their site, but latest rumour is that they'll be doing both of those today.

Might call them up later if they haven't updated their site to find out where 3G is available.

They did a press release yesterday, will be selling micro-sims at DSE from today - $20 with $20 worth of credit on their sim, and their 3g network will stay on from now till launch... Which should also obviously be coming very soon.

It's my opinion that it can't be a shipping issue. They simply would have known about it before last night.

Just spoke to Paul Brislen outside the Queen Street store, "no iPhones to be sold anywhere today, it's been a very long night" though his comment makes me wonder if they are actually in the country but not allowed to be sold.

Quite annoyed!

Nightwyrm: Sign outside Magnum Mac Wgtn: http://twitpic.com/29t1w6 (repost from @MissNickiBee on Twitter)

Well when it comes to stock and choosing a country who is going to get the short end of the deal aka shafted then NZ is prime candidate.

Paul (@vodafonenz) has said he may have news later today

The timeline of events though shows that they knew there would be an issue at least a week ago, when they failed to send out more information to the people that had registered interest.

Completely unacceptable.

If VF is holding back stock whilst they repair a deal with Apple I'll be extremely pissed.

Yeah a long night for the customers waiting for it, or did he forget about them.
Vodafone and apple need a foot up the rear.

ahmad: A spat between Vodafone and Apple doesn't explain other retailers not selling it today...

Actually; it does. Vodafone are the official importer in NZ. i.e. Apple Australia supply Vodafone New Zealand with stock for sale and (re)distribution.

[edit] removed something

But why would any kind of spat between Voda and Apple in any way affect Apples ability to sell their own phone on their own website?

The small matter of legal contracts.
