nudge: I got an email from VF last week (16 July) about the micro sims, the last line says...

What's next?

We will be in contact again next week to give you more info on pricing for the iPhone 4 and when it will be available in New Zealand.

By my calculations they have till the end of today (OK sunday if they work weekends) to give us a price.

VF haven't even confirmed they will have them on the 30th.  So much for registering your interest and getting updates.

IMO, They don't want to take any limelight away from the iPad on it's launch - we won't hear a thing until at least Monday.

I hope I'm wrong.

ChrnoXIII: and yes! vodafone _shud_ send everyone an email sometime today "officially" confirming the iphone 4. when they said that about the microsim email it was "in the next week" exactly on the friday of last week right? logic says today it will be :)

Didn't Vodafone put up a page for people to enter their email addresses and receive up-to-date information about the release? Did anyone receive information via that method?

I popped into my local VF store today and he said they/we will know more on Tuesday, maybe even where stock is being allocated.  He was just a store joey, so who knows.

I got him to confirm my existing contract was up and coincidentally it expired yesterday - timing is everything

garethw: Yeah but I'm not comparing prices between countries - I'm comparing prices between products within the same country. If the spread in other countries is 19-25% then there's no reason for a much greater spread in our country?

ah yea, sorry bout that, i didnt read properly

Once again Vodafone fails to deliver. Promised 7 days ago that we would hear about the launch within a week. Thanks for the BS!

I'm planning on lining up to get my iPhone 4 in Dunedin, probably not overnight but probably around 6 or 7 in the morning.

Not entirely sure what the best retailer to line up outside would be. Would the Vodafone retail store (Wall Street mall) or MagnumMac be my best bet?

Has anyone had any experience with either in the past? I assume that MagnumMac will have the iPhone 4 on release?

Awesome :D
I highly doubt I will get there that early, have to travel out from Mosgiel, but I will be there as soon as I can :)

I was planning on the Vodafone retail store in Wall Street, as I'm pretty sure that the one you are meaning is First Mobile?
First Mobile are a Vodafone reseller, not an official Vodafone retail store (from my knowledge, I may very well be wrong)
http://www.vodafone.co.nz/help/store-locations/ (search dunedin)

Yup, if that fails there is always StudentIT or MagnumMac on Crawford Street (the one way going towards the Octagon).

or i cud be wrong... meh, might go check on monday

I am planning on lining up at Dunedin aswell (outside Wall St) as thats where the official Vodafone outlet is. I need my phone asap before my trip overseas lol so I am hoping that if I line up that I will get it.

Well the Meridian i.e. the old one has a Vodafone but its not an official Vodafone.

The official Vodafone store is located within the new Wall St complex (I know from when I had to take my 3GS in to get it repaired under their insurance thing)
