(with apologies to Tom Jones)
I'm curious as to whether anyone has any ideas as to why the stock iOS clock in NZ has Waitangi listed in the world clock section?

I initially thought that Apple were harking back to the days when Waitangi was (I believe) the official capital of NZ.... and maybe they ran on a different time back then... but that was a stretch of the imagination.
Seems it's actually Waitangi in the Chatham Islands, who are 45 mins ahead of NZ time... but why have it as default? Is it perhaps the default time for Australaisia iOS devices? Anyone know?

Cheers,
Mike

Waitangi is in the Chatham Islands, they are ahead.

Edit. Ooops, I see you already found that out. Ignore me.

Hi - sorry, but I thought this was a relevant day to resurrect my OP.

Maybe someone has gone out and purchased a new iOS device today, looked at the World Clock section of the Clock app, noticed that it's default extra time zone is Waitangi and figured out why this is so?

Or perhaps if you have looked at a newly set-up device you could confirm that your device has Waitangi listed by default.... thanks.

Cheers,
Mike
