Search engine is still lame - just as lame as the website search engine which has been that way for years but Yellow appear to be blind to it.

No we aren't. We are definitely aware there are issues with the search engine and we are working on a solution.

Are you able to give me any specific examples of the issues you are having, then I can perhaps help you out a bit.

Hi YellowNZ,

The app is great. Used it a lot yesterday while trying to find a joinery place.

One suggestion, could a future update keep searches persistent?

i.e. leaving the search results screen to make a phone call takes you out of the app. Returning back you have to type in your search criteria again. Not that useful if the first business you call doesn't have what you want...

Great stuff having an application like that but it locks out users of other mobile devices with data capabilities (Windows Mobile, Android and S60 mainly).

I found yesterday there's a mobile-optimised Yellow search available - found it through the Telecom PDAPortal pages. Very simple, but it does the job. Can we have something similar with White Pages?

Better still, can you do an automatic redirection based on user-agent so people visiting the White Pages or Yellow Pages from a mobile device are automatically redirected to the mobile version?

If you need any help we have a good routine that is easy to translat from ASP/.Net to any other platform.

That's exactly right and we are looking into developing more mobile based applications for specific devices as well as upgrading the current Yellow WAP site to be more line with the iPhone App.

I'll add your suggestion about redirection to our product backlog, thanks for that, it makes sense really.

@ Yellow please show us blackberry users some love!
I am very reliant on Google maps, and other mobile search apps, and if i hand a yellow / white pages app, live would be a lot easier!

http://www.zenbu.co.nz/ has iPhone and Windows Mobile applications in addition to just using the site itself.
