I have started this thread to see how many of you would be at a Vodafone store at midnight this Friday if Voda would open then for us.  I would also like to know what city you are in.

For the 3GS launch I spent the night along with three others lining up for the Vodafone store at the Bayfair Shopping center in Tauranga.  Rather than spend the night I would love to line up for a midnight opening thus allowing me to be at work on time for Friday.  EB Games had a midnight launch for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 not so long ago and there was at least 20 of us there.

I will collate your answers as the thread gathers steam.

City - Tauranga
Store - Vodafone Bayfair
Would I be there for a midnight opening - Hell Yes!

Maybe I should turn up to one of these places at Midnight and show off my iPhone 4.

aimsy007:
Store - Vodafone Bayfair

I would suggest that anything in a mall would be a no go considering that the mall operators dictate the opening and closing hours for all retailers who trade out of the complex.

That is correct, but as stated the Bayfair Shopping Mall in Tauranga has allowed stores to open alternative hours as was the case with a midnight release of COD2 a few months ago.

Can I just ask...so when you become the first to get one (I take it that is the point of queuing or going to a store at midnight) what do you do after you walk out with the product?

Do you go home and send 100 texts from the new device?
Sit there opening the calc app and then the calendar etc testing it all out?

I mean you must stay up for hours afterwards using it otherwise you may as well arrive at 9am after a nice breakfast and pick one up right?

Lol, Or you could take it home and charge it for 8 or so hours.
