Good Luck .. I was tempted, but like me, I am guessing a lot of people will be hoding back to see how the new RTX3070 performs.

Based on nVidia's marketing it should be a lot faster (50% or more) than 2070S for less than NZ$800 NEW

Unfortunately I highly doubt that is the case. I expect that Prices in AUS/NZ to be much more than a simple currency conversion. Similar to how the 2000 series was.

I would guess 3070 to be 1.2-1.4k. I have been told to expect the 3080 @ just over $2k NZD

Your point still stands though, its a bloodbath on trademe of second hand GPUs. The 3000 series plus AMD's likely competitive alternative will drive prices really low for older gear.

If that's the price in NZ, people can just buy on amazon for US$500 + 15% GST + US$30 shipping.

Yeah, although a lot of the sellers will probably not ship to NZ and I would guess there will be lots of demand/shortages
