A bit of an unusal request - does anyone have a set of VDSL ethernet extenders they'd be willing to part with (e,g. Netsys NV-202)? I have a situation where it would be useful to be able to network the ends of an old phone wire, but not really worth it for the price of new kit.

I don't have any for sale (but have deployed a lot of VDSL extenders especially Netsys gear) but one thing to consider if you want a lower cost option is new G.hn gear which will deliver faster speeds (full Gigabit) and is cheaper than units such as the older Netsys VDSL units.

If you have coax as well that could be used you can also buy a pair of brand new G.hn adapters for under NZ$100.

Where's the best place to buy a pair of G.hn adapters to run over a phone line?

Thanks for the response sbiddle. I remember hearing about G.hn a while back, but had never looked into it. No coax in this case unfortunately.

I did manage to find a few G.hn over twisted pair units, but they don't seem to be as readily available as the coax and powerline varieties:

Those NV-x units seem to be getting rare.

I hoard them whenever i find one.

Interesting note though.... you can put one end in CO mode and use a normal VDSL modem/router at the other end as the CPE device which will have built in wi-fi.
