there seems to be a lot of these for sale on trademe at the moment with most descriptions stating between one and four months old.
Is there something about these phones that has people ditching them after such a short period of time?

Everybody states "great phone" but if so - why are they selling?

I just bought one the other week off trademe. Rooted and overclocked to 1.5 and it is the best phone I've owned. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Wow, what a drama buying this phone has been.

I have been unlucky enough to "buy" this phone of this guy.   Buy is a loose term as the phone has not arrived.   I paid the money last Friday and have had every excuse under the sun as to why it has not been shipped or why it has not arrived.

I have been promised a tracking number many times, it never turns up.   The latest was going to be a "phone call before 3pm"

The guy has taken my money and will not supply me the phone (or any proof that he has sent it).

If he just forget to send it, or their was another problem, sweet.  Just tell me.   I have even offered to drive and pick it up (3 hr drive), cancel the deal and get my money back or ship me the phone.   Been very flexible.

Going to the Police tomorrow. I have details of the Geekzone messages, the bank transfer as well as details of all our phone calls and text messages.

Mate, not sure where to start. Still no phone. Still no money back.

So far have been told the money was returned on Thursday 8th, but it is not in my bank yet, and he has been unable to provide any evidence that the money has been sent back. Said he "pxt" me a screen shot, but I never got it. I get MMS messages from everyone else ok, so strange it just happens to not work from him.

He was in Auckland (Apparently) this weekend and were going to meet up and sort it out, but again more of the same. The 8pm meeting last night turned into excuse after excuse as to where he was and why he cannot make it, until he ran out of excuses and just stopped taking calls and replying to texts.

The police seem to know who he is, not sure what for, but a passing comment made that clear.

His father said "I would go to the police, if you get what I am saying".  So that does not look good.  The guys credit rating is also shot.

I should post the text thread on here.. It is a good laugh.

I have offered time and time again to drive up (3hrs) and get the phone (or the money back).

Going in to Xmas down a phone and down cash.  Not looking good at all.

That sucks mate. Sorry to hear about it, especially when it is from another fellow Geekzone member. Well, let's hope it works out in the end, and with his bank account number, I am positive you won't lose out in the end.

Do you know his address? These days it's not hard to track down people by the internet.
I bet this guy is reading this post as well.
I've known a few people to be just fricken useless and thats the way they are, not realizing that it really pisses others off and don't know what they are doing but in your case with the police etc it may not be a good outcome.
Man i hope this goes o.k for you.

Thru the wonders of the Internet I know a lot about him:

Full Name, Date of Birth, Home Address, Credit Rating (including defaults), Police Record, Political Bias etc..

The issue is I really don't want to drive to Whangarei, nor do I want to threaten him or piss him off. I just want the phone or my money back.
