Well, lets put it this way, I've already told them I"m refusing to pay for last months internet. I'll sooner declare bankruptcy than for them to get a single damn cent out of me.
Maybe the Orcon management need to realise that we as customers pay for a service and we bloody well expect that the service is delivered. If that service isn't delivered - I ain't paying.
While refusing to pay your bill is one way, it potentially can result in them suspending your service, referring you to a debt collection service, or putting a black mark on your credit record. There are more constructive and less 'dangerous' of lodging complaints/protesting than simply refusing to pay your bill and having baycorp turn up on your doorstep.
My suggestion to everyone who still hasn't found a resolution to look at these guys. They do say that you do have to make a complaint first, but I suggest having a look anyway.
Guys there is a little thing called the Consumer Gurantee Act.

kaiwai: I'm now on snap, and this is awesome. Really fast, really reliable. I was downloading off the Apple update site at 460KBs around 15 minutes ago - 500+ MB combo update. That is using all the bandwidth I have available and over a wireless connection to my router - great speed.
Two thumbs up for snap internet. Broadband, great price, friendly staff.

This time round though Duncan - has Orcon ordered enough bandwidth to accomodate all the needs of your clients?
Are we gonna see it fixed only for a short period of time again and then have latency issues again?
I surely hope not.
duncanblair: Yes, this issue has meant that we have completely re-evaluated the forecasting methodology we use, and consequently re-forecasted our bandwidth requirements going forward.

This is great news Duncan, for Orcon's sake I really hope you have forecasted correctly and purchased enough bandwidth this time, another failure will surely destroy Orcon's reputation once and for all.
