Hmmm i got a call a while ago from Broadspectrum booking in a time for my ONT to be changed.  Wonder if they cant handle the throughput.  Also resigning for 24 months so looking forward to getting the 7490 for free, hope it means ill be able to  avoid this :)

What area are you in? This is pretty strange

Im in Cambridge, so the UFF area.

Do you have the large black Huawei ONT or the small white one?

The small white one. Our install was done late 2013

If you have a black Huawei ONT and are in a UFF area, in order to get 1000/500 UFF need to come out to swap the ONT for a newer white one.

Can I have Gigabit in Auckland 2Degrees? Chorus? Please? :)

I'm in Taranaki and UFF came this morning and swapped out the black Haawei ONT for a smaller white ONT.

Apparently the black ONT wouldn't support 1000/500.

I was on 200/200, and now I'm stuck on approx 440/540.
Like others in this thread, initially this was 200/540, but after a chat with 2 Degrees, it jumped to 440/540.

I'll give it a few days to see if it jumps up in speed, my Literouter PoE should support up to 1G fine (from what I've been told).

I'm one of those "automatic upgrade" 200/200 customers but just checked and it looks like mine is b0rked also?

I am having an issue after upgrading. stuck at 200 down / 450 up

Invercargill

Upgrade done on Saturday morning. Have been told by tech support at 2d first the needed to make a change. Then that it is because they have not upgraded Invercargill yet so I will not get the gigabit speed until this is completed...

Hey guys, can you please PM broadband customer number or username, I'll check it out.

Thanks,

Ralph ^JOB

I'm also getting around 300/430 Mbs (In CHCH to CHCH Speedtest server). It's not bad at all, but I'm wondering if it's my FritzBox 7390 (Also running VOIP).

Any ideas?

Hi Migrif,

I have been able to locate your account through past interactions, there was a limit set in your modem. We have corrected this now.

Thanks,

Ralph ^JOB

Thanks Ralph for changing the limit :)

My speeds are similar to before 290/430 (Taken at 5pm, so I would expect it to be slower than my last test).

I also have the Older Black ONT, someone else mentioned they don't do 1GB/s, if that's useful information.

Maybe I just need a speedier Fritzbox.

After a phone call everything is working, didn't even have to cut the connection at all it seems.  This gigabit speed is truly ridiculous, the future is truly here.

Edit: Oh yeah, speed test earlier, though on my machine's traffic monitor I've seen it spike to 930Mbps/505Mbps which is expected.

Random slightly off topic question - In some of those Speedtest results, why does the ISP come up as '?2DEGREES'?

Actually yes i did have the large black ONT, but Clear vision came in this morning and replaced it with a white one.  Still not overly happy with the results though :(

We are just on the 100/20. Day to day how is this gigabit connection like? If one were to download that occasional 1GB Whats the time difference we are talking about. Single computer situation.

depends on where you are downloading from but it could be anywhere between the time it currently takes and about 10x faster. also depends on what your connection is like
