Everytime I get a notification from this thread, I immediately get excited over the prospect of new information, only to be disappointed hahahaha

No worries, any new information even if it's just small bits would be great, otherwise the wait won't kill us, at least we know a rough rollout date ;)

Had a wee chat with the lads downstairs. We're aiming for an early November release for the VDSL plans. Still on track for $15 more than current plan prices and I hear we'll even be getting some naked plans for it too. Still not 100% confirmed but if I'm allowed to post it on here then it's a pretty good sign ;)

Still on track for $15 more than current plan prices and I hear we'll even be getting some naked plans for it too. Still not 100% confirmed but if I'm allowed to post it on here then it's a pretty good sign ;)

Did they say anything about Unlimited VDSL? Iirc it was mentioned earlier on that you would be offering unlimited VDSL but at a higher cost which would be later confirmed. Looking back, I see you mentioned that the standard plans would be $10 more a month, has this been changed to $15, or was that a mistype?

You're right we did say $10 back in August. Like I say the prices aren't yet set in stone so I'd imagine one of these figures will be what we go with. I've flicked the product manager an email to see if he can shed any more light on that.

Still not heard about any unlimited plans though :(

Ok, sign me up for an upgrade tothe vdsl naked unlimited the second it is possible to put an order into the system please. $15 is a no brainer for close to 10x the upload.

We would be happy to pay up to $10 extra on top of unlimited + POTS.

Probably $15 is pushing it. (Would be almost the same price as Telecom)

That's just us anyway.

Got a wee bit more clarification. The aim is to have plans priced between $10 and $15 more than the current plans (no word on unlimited though). If we can get them at $10 more then that's awesome. Remember that nothing is set in stone 'till it's up on our website; anything from me here is gunna be "to the best of my knowledge".

Does Telecom do unlimited VDSL?

No they do not. However they do 500Gb, which is plenty for us.

We normally use 200-300 Gb.

Basically:

1) Is data cap greater than 300 GB. If yes, move to 2.
2) Is the DSL technology the same. If yes, move to 3.
3) Is there a significant price difference between the vendors, without being too much more than existing prices. If yes, purchase.

Maybe slingshot should poll all existing clients to determine the perfect plan requirements to help them scale and provide accordingly - win-win?

I'm waiting for VDSL but would only consider a plan that best matches the abuse of my current unlimited ADSL connection.

I'm waiting for VDSL but would only consider a plan that best matches the abuse of my current unlimited ADSL connection.

I like that idea. It might not get implemented straight away but if we've got a big demand for something that we're not offering then there's the chance that we can get something new built.

Our biggest capped plan at the moment is 200GB. How big would you guys like to see?
