I've been connected to Snap VDSL & VOIP for my phone for 1 week now.
So far I haven't noticed any broadband slow downs that may be congestion related . My connection seems to run at peak speeds all of the time.
Speedtest shows..
Ping 10ms
Download 43.99 Mbps
Upload 9.32 Mbps
So, that is very good.
I'm still not so sure about VOIP yet . I am using the fritzbox as a DECT base station for my Panasonic DECT-GAP handsets.
Some people said the phone line was really noisy. Snap made a remote adjustment to my fritzbox that seems to have fixed that.
My dect handsets occasionally disconnect from the fritzbox and I need to reselect the base from the handset.
The occasional incoming call just disconnects when I answer .
Some interactive answering systems (eg, Snaps) cannot detect my phone key presses (press '1' for tech support doesn't work for example). But, some others do work OK (eg, PBTech).
Sometimes(1 out of 10 calls maybe) it takes a long time for an outgoing call to start connecting -- I've had to wait up to 40 seconds for a call to start 'ringing'.
Snap have recommended using a wired connection but haven't had time to test that yet.
I'm wondering if I should splash out for a fritzfon.
