Hi,
I am interested in comments from anyone who is using or has used Snap as an internet provider in north Canterbury.
We currently use Vodafone, was Telstra Clear, and have noticed connection speeds getting slower. At peak times around 7pm till 10pm we are luck to get 0.40mbps from a possible 7 to 8 mbps. We are only 1 km from the local roadside cabinet but not sure if we are on the Cust or Rangiora exchange.
Speed tests done at 6am get a result of 6.5 to 7mbps. I do accept there will be some speed loss at peak times but all the way down to 0.4mbps is not really acceptable. Trying to talk to Vodafone is hopeless so it's time to move.
I use Snap as a provider at work and noticed a huge improvement in speed when we switched from Telecom. From what I have read here lots of positive comments re Snap so just looking for anyone who has or is using them in a rural/country area.
The cabinet is supposedly running ADSL2 so we should be getting good speeds out here but I have a feeling there may be a lot of traffic shaping/throttling going on.
Thanks for any help & suggestions.
Chris
