Has anyone else been experiencing slower than normal ipv6 recently (last month or so). It's gotten so bad that I've disabled ipv6 at home (my wife was complaining facebook wasn't loading fast enough).

I love that Snap has native ipv6, but it's getting to the point now where I'm about to disable it in our office as well. I have ipv6 websites hanging which should be pretty fast (wikipedia, facebook etc).

Same problem here, with Snap UFB in Auckland
Facebook, Wikipedia, etc, even GeekZone NZ, were extremely slow, sometimes just dead connection and didn't even load (However Google is fine)
It probably stared to happen after I upgraded to the new 100/20 plan, and Fritzbox firmware change

Disable the IPV6 can somewhat fix the problem, those websites can load lightening fast now
However my mate said the VOIP phone quality became a lot worse than before, and sometimes he picked up the call but couldn't hear anything
It seems re-enable the IPV6 can bring back the phone quality to normal, but then again some IPV6 websites can't load
Also occasionally PPPOE timeout happens under IPV4 only

IPv6 was perfect for me, unfortunately i cant comment on the last month or so considering i have been away from a snap connection for 2 months now (oh the withdrawals!)

@mouwen, if your getting PPPoE timeouts, ild recommend looking to the newest firmware. It is my understanding that this is fixed in it.

I've disabled iv6 on windows and my snap router. I don't need it yet, and I suspected it was causing some problem (I forget what) so I disabled it.

Thanks. But when I was upgrading, Snap told me that My Fritzbox 7360 needs a special custom firmware in order to work with their new UFB plans, they did all the job remotely.
The image shows the firmware was provided and modified by Snap, I can't update now because it's already the latest 06.20

Now we have a temporary solution: Enable IPV6 in Fritzbox, but disable IPV6 on our computer / laptop (In Control Panel - Network Settings - Property - Disable IPV6 TCP Protocol)

Ah. Snap weren't customizing the newest one but one version back before. (i forget the exact version number.)

I just emailed Snap's helpdesk and I was told that due to ongoing problems with ipv6 it has been temporarily disabled. I was told that I should disable it in my Fritzbox. Seems weird that they would disable ipv6 for everyone, I'm trying to get clarification.

checked my Fritxbox and ipv6 is disabled , i didnt do it so i wonder if Snap have been busy when they changed my OS to FRITZ!OS 06.10-28997 BETA . On Fibre.

If that is no longer the case I want to know as I will not use them if they have disabled it or no longer support it on their ufb clne

Is there an official position from snap, is it simply a clne issue they are having or an issue with with IPv6 on their network ?

Ild assume the disable is temporary while they make large changes to their network...

ipv6 on snap has always caused issues for me and my customers using SNAP, particularly facebook on android with slow loading images and have had issues with other sites as well.

Ive seen it on multiple snap VDSL and UFB connections with the same behaviour

I simply disable it in the fritzbox for all the snap connections i look after and then life is good again

there was a post here on geekzone a while ago and pointed the finger at the Fritzbox as the cause of the ipv6 issues, but never got around to testing it with another brand router to
see if it was correct

Snap will enable IPv6 on your connection if you request it. ATM it is disabled because Some users had issues. Personally I have had no issues with Snap's IPv6.

Every long term IPv6 issue I've had on Snap has been due to my router misbehaving. After sorting my router out it has been smooth sailing.
Don't have any issues with v6 on any of the devices in the house (Windows, Linux, Android, Mac or iOS).
