Hi

Everytime that I've ported mobile numbers in the past, the switchover is instantaneous (after a few hour delay). One moment, calls go to the old sim in one phone. Next moment, calls go to the new sim in another phone, and the old sim is disconnected from the network. There's no loss of availability, provided you have the old and new phone with you.

I lodged a port request from VF prepay to 2D prepay early this morning. When I tested at lunch time, outbound calls/txts from both the old and new sim present as the number I'm trying to port - ie both Sims have the same phone number. If I call this number, it immediately disconnects - no voicemail or number not available message. It's been like this ever since.

I've never had my number unavailable on both providers for such a long time before - is this normal? All I'm getting from 2d help is to wait the full 24 hours - which would be fine if my number was working on one of the phones.

Update: 2d have admitted that something has gone wrong, will have to wait until porting team gets to it on Monday.
