I suspect it's a case of very soon!

I should probably add for those that don't see the significants of it that the Prime xml did not exist on Wednesday the 12th so it is a very new development.

Yes Kordia are testing a new channel on both DTT and DTH but it isn't currently carrying anything other than an extreme sports test loop.

I've checked the EIT data on DVB-S and there is no data for that channel at present.

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

Sooner the better, i would prefer the DVB-S as the wtv is alot easier to work with

Both, TVNZ have xml listings for DVB-S (Stratos, Cue, Te Reo) and DVB-T only (tvCentral, etc).

In fact try this for a list (not including Prime yet)

Ok, so we can't really deduce from this what format Prime may be broadcast on.
But still very cool that it looks like TVNZ have picked up the listing info, which def hints that something may be on the cards.

Not sure if this has always been the case, but there appears to be a hole in the Freeview TV Guide that could fit a new channel in quite nicely. http://www.freeviewnz.tv/whats_on_freeview/tv_guide.

Thats actually the slot for TV3 PLUS1 which doesn't appear to be loading.

If you run the freeview online EPG through a proxy you can see the XML files being fetched. At the moment only the following URLs are being fetched from the TVNZ listings pages

Did a scan and found the mountain bike/ski jump loop you were talking about, but only on DTH. What frequency/locale was the DTT broadcast? And is it still on?

For reference the new channel with the sports loop is:

TP: 12456 Horizontal 22500 SR

And Prime TV on sky is on:

TP: 12707 Horizontal 22500 SR

Of course this is currently encrypted

Great find, I've been trying to ages to get a reliable source for EPG - am trying to build a small app to remind me when my favourite programs are on.

Prime Now Available on Freeview Satellite And Freeview |HD platforms

Freeview Limited and SKY Television announce that an agreement has been reached regarding Prime Television being made available on Freeview satellite and Freeview |HD platforms from Monday 17th August, 2009.

Having launched a little over two years ago, the availability of Prime on Freeview now brings the total number of channels to 13 on Freeview satellite and 12 on Freeview|HD. This is yet another compelling reason for Kiwis to switch from analogue TV to free-to-air digital TV.

More than a quarter of a million homes have already done so, as was signalled by Freeview in July 2009.

Freeview was created to provide consumer choice in digital TV access and this latest exciting development means New Zealanders can now choose to watch all national free-to-air channels in digital quality.

"All you need is a Freeview approved digital receiver and your existing TV and you can enjoy Prime's programmes in digital quality for free" says Sam Irvine, General Manager, Freeview.

Current Prime viewers may also be able to take advantage of their UHF aerials which could provide them with access to the Freeview |HD platform. All viewers need to do is to visit www.freeviewnz.tv to see if they are in a Freeview |HD coverage area.
