Yes, I realised soon after my post that it is single tuner (sorry brain fart)
I've got the DVB-T card (this one IS dual tuner) and DVB-S playing happilly together, albeit the T crashes and drops the tuner on a regular basis, but this was expected from what others have reported. The S is pretty stable, but of course with only the single tuner I would like the get the T a bit more stable.
My biggest worry is the EPG from the S card. It's bizzare, in the guide part it shows a full weeks data, but the programs are wrong. It shows the right line up, in the right order, but at the wrong times. Say it's 9.30pm the guide shows 9.30pm as the current time, but shows "StickyTV" as the current program for TV3 instead of Boston Legal (which Rocks! Denny Crane).
To further complicate matters, if I watch live TV and scroll up and down throw the mini guide thing, it is correct.
Fiji Rocks! I should have moved long ago. I can't wait for when NZ gets the same climiate, it's been a long time comming - bring on the HDTV
OK, so I just setup te DVB-S card in GBPVR and pulled down the EPG. Same result, with the program times being wrong. So at this stage I am inclined to blaim FreeView, but am supprised they would get it wrong

I had been through and checked all the settings. I even changed it to Norway, because that is the region I use in VMC.
Turns out a reboot is requied for the settings to take effect and it appears to be base on the timezone, not the regional setting in the control - probem solved ;-)
Now if someone an resolve the T channels dropping the decoder I will give thea chocolate fish Incidently I found a utility called "VMCD" which is a defualt decoder changer, but it seems to be fo mpeg2 and hasn't helped the problem - butit might help point someone with a few more clues in the rht dirrection ;-)

Here the thing with the DVB-T - we could all collectively spend hours trying to solve it, but the solution may already be out there.
We are already 1 release behind the beta schedule (may even be more now) - who knows the current version may have solved the issue. If I was looking for a solution thats where I'd start looking...
And yes I've looked - just haven't found anything yet...
Fiji is getting boring,. It's lost the attraction it once had and I find myself again looking for the next big thing. I'm hanging out for the real thing tho - it seems to promise all that should have been in the original.
OMG where do they get these reporters?!?! At what point did Fiji ever become the name for the next version of Windows??! Even since the Media Center beta program was announced there was a clear definition between Media Center development and Windows development. Get a clue Fairfax!!!! Ever heard of fact-checking??
How are people going with DVB-T in Fiji? I currently suffer from the the same problems as others:
1. Live TV displays for about 5 seconds then goes blank, however the video can be viewed when the epg is overlayed or in the now playing icon in the start screen. This does not effect recording which works fine, even playback of the videos works even though it is using the same codec (note I currently use powerdvd 8's codecs). Also occasionally I get an error where VMC can't display live tv without a restart as the codec has malfunctioned.
2. The epg data is not all there. VMC currently reads EIT data only, which only contains now/next information. It does not read MHEG-5 data which contains a weeks worth of epg data.
Has anyone made any progress with these problems? I am aware this is on beta, but just putting it out there.
Note the version of VMC I am using is dated 10/04/2008 -2200.
MHEG seems to be bit dodgy in this beta and it is what is affecting the live tv. To stop the screen blanking after a few seconds just go to Settings > general > program library options > edit program libary and uncheck interactive tv and mheg ad-in. Simple :)
I've been using fiji since last week and thanks to some members of this forum posting solutions, i now use fiji as the only program for watching TV DVB-T, NO BLANKING, NO STUTTERS, only issue is once i stop live TV i have to restart PC due to decoder error, otherwise fiji is better than the buggy GBPVR.
I'm guessing so as there's been no newer versions available that I can find. Since I'm not an official beta tester I found the old version through good old Google-digging and none of the official beat-testers seem willing to drop an updated copy online anywhere. Of course that'd be against the terms of being a beta-tester, but some one did it last time, so hopefully they'll do it again. Or even better... Microsoft could knock off this cloak and dagger business and throw the beta open to the public. But (for whatever mysterious reasons) they don't seem to want to do that.
