This is Ashok jain currently working on small Ms-Access project and i am a learner

i got used to splitting the database and using the front end and backend (Datas) in seperate locations in the same desktop system

now i am trying to link the data from my FTP location from my desktop system which has the forms which acts as the front end.
i have uploaded the splitted database on my ftp server too and when i try to link my forms to the data on the ftp location it says "Invalid File Name" and i was not able to link the data to my desktop system.
for your kind information.. i ahven't changed the name of the database which is present on my local system and also uploaded datas on my FTP location

can anyone help me how to link the data on my ftp server from the Access forms which are on my local system and how can i eradicate this error

await to hear back from the GURUS of Ms-Access to help this rookiee

FTP is not a file system - it's used to transfer files from one location to another so you can't use it for accessing a MS Access database.

Your only choice is using a File Share on this server.

The Scripts.com is a good source of MS Access info, trust me I used it plenty this year!

Good luck
