Im drooling looking at that photo!!!
I have been a long term Sony user and my old Xperia Z screen broke which was 5 years old but looking at what Sony are doing this year I am for the first time put off in their direction hence why Im liking what Nokia are going at the moment. Not tempted by Samsung or Apple or others, always caveats with other brands in which are good phones but lack features that I want!
Well the on screen nav is pretty standard anyway so im nit picking.
What you should expect, with what is basicaly 1080p in 18:9 (you know what i mean), is a 6" screen that still looks reasonably nice, but because it has a whopping 3800mah battery you should expect shed loads more screen on time than say a 1440p AMOLED display with a 3200mah battery.
The Meizu M6 note which runs similar hardware but 5.5" 16:9 is noted for its battery life (same size battery). Some report 3 days use. Of course that very much depends on use, if you play games non stop then clearly it wont be that long. But what you do get over say the sd625 is an SD660 which is kind of half way between the sd630 and a high end SOC. its also extremely battery saving focussed.
So Im expecting the big sell is screen on time. Of course you are getting a bigger screen but not more pixels, but for me 1080p on a notebook is plenty crisp enough.
The one thing it misses out on is HDR, i think only the Sony X premium uses an LCD and can display HDR, the rest are LEDs, LG, Samsung etc.
So it comes down to what you use the phone for and how important media playback is. There is no doubt AMOLED with HDR at 1440p looks sooooooo much nicer for movies. But if you hadnt seen one Id say LCDs at 1080p still look crazy nice at this size.
As an all round phone I think its likely to be the phone of the year. It runs on Android one, so immediate updates etc, hard to beat.
