The case design looks very much like the case on the N1 tablet.

I wonder how the OS updates will flow.  Will they be controlled by Spark or directly from HMD/Nokia?

Good question - they say it's monthly updates, so I'd like to know too...

Hmmm. Having moved from Windows Phone to Android (only because I hated Windows Mobile 10) and having gotten used to Android...this might be enough to tempt me back when the time comes (which is some way off yet - I only got my A3 this year). Only thing is no FM radio frown I might have a look at one in a Spark shop after they've been released. Wonder if it will make its way to Vodafone too?

What? I don't understand. You make it sound like these Nokia are running Windows - they're running Android. Or are you just talking about the hardware?

Sorry, I should have explained that better...

I loved my Nokia Lumia 930 and was sad when Microsoft stopped supporting it. I realised though that times change and things move on, so I learned Android and have gotten used to it. Still use my Nokia for the camera though. This Nokia 8 seems to have a good camera (I think the Zeiss thing must be the technology/hardware that appeals to me for taking photos - I'm hardly the world's best photographer) but I do like the Android OS now. So this could be tempting if it was available on Vodafone and had an FM radio.

The lower priced ones look nice for the price. But they look a littledated with their big forehead and chin, compared to the more premium phones. The newer nokia 9, when it is released looks like it has a better screen ratio though.

Also are any of these models going to be locked?

It was announced as an exclusive Nokia/Spark tie up so I'd highly doubt it.

I'd like to say these new phones look great on paper, but reviews overseas seem to class them as just "ok" phones. :-/ Think I'd rather play with one a bit before forking out my cash.

The question is will Spark be blocking monthly updates + OS upgrades on these?

I haven't seen the reviews, but on past experience with some reviewers unless it's Apple, Samsung, Sony, Android, iOS etc, (take your pick of which one) all other devices don't measure up. In other words some reviews aren't worth the pixels used to create them.
