Missed the courier yesterday, Went and picked it up today (pre-ordered from Vodafone). The screen is amazing, Although the buttons are going to take a getting used to having come back from an iPhone.

swap the back and multitask buttons around, there is an option to do that.  Samsung are the only ones that seem to like them on the right side.  It becomes an issue if you go to another android device as back is on the left.

Parking is pretty tight on Queen Street and surrounding areas. I'd catch a bus and make a day/afternoon of it.

Release isn't until tomorrow though, so not to fret yet - I imagine most of you will get told to come and get it tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I went and picked up a Neohybrid case for mine - quite nice, Spigen always do good cases though.

Has anyone preordered from Spark received theirs yet? Mine arrived today but no sign of the free SD card and nothing in the packaging to indicate whether I have to go in store to claim it. Wondering if others have got their cards...

salttlas: Anyone have an email address for Samsung New Zealand?

I'm quite to send them an email, not so much as a complaint but some feedback about the process of pre-ordering for the Note 8.

In my mind, a pre-order should be something you get prior to the general public. Otherwise what's the point.

Then if the release date is 22nd, then this should be the case for all resellers etc. If they decide to move the release date forward for the benefit of the people who pre-ordered, then this should be something that is done as a blanket. Not just for some. There is even disparity between the same company depending on branch.

I don't think it is right, that some customers who pre-ordered direct or from various resellers, should receive early while others don't. How does that make sense.

I will begrudgingly wait until tomorrow, however knowing that others are receiving their new phones from yesterday just doesn't sit right...

We'll be back to the fact that you can't "pre-order" things - you can only "order" things at this rate...! cool

Hows things, what would you like to know ?. Iv had a few hands on between the two. Some distinct differences, more similarities. Key areas that define the note are.

Spen.

More usable screen surface area and despite only a 0.1" increase in display size, the geometry of the body potrays significantly more screen realestate.

Even though hardware is the same, the software optimization makes the note 8 feel more quicker, but also shows comparable battery performance despite its lower battery capacity.

The larger RAM size makes a big difference, i have always right from the early days i adopted android, advocated that large ram capacities would allow a more fluid system.

The only thing you loose is the extra dough it costs between the two. I would say if you are not a avid spen user like me, then stick with the s8+.

The RAM is one of the main reason I am changing from the s8 to the note8.  4gigs is nice but 6 would make it fly.  Don't really care that much about the camera but having 2 will be nice :)
