....Don't suppose anyone know of another phone brand/model that has a similar feature to the MBack button?. Smashed my M3 screen, keen for a change, but don't think I could go back to the arrow/home on screen buttons...that way just seems so ancient now, lol.
PBTech do screen replacements - cheaper than a new phone :)
<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.
Is the update ever coming out of beta?

Nik I wish you guys could drop your prices permanently on the N3 models now the N5s are out and available elsewhere similar pricing.
Also have you looked into getting other asian market phones like LeEco or One plus etc?
The Xiaomi Mi6 is awesome, the camera not as fast as the Galaxy S8, but the SD835 and adreno 540 and 6GB of ram is awesome. I know it doesnt have rural 4G. But any chance you guys will get it in?

We do range OnePlus, sold truckloads of 3 & 3T. Even have limited stock of Midnight Black. :)
LeEco is dead in western markets, so that's a nope. Was keen on the Mi6 until Xiaomi removed the headphone jack. As with the Moto Z & HTC U series, that's a consumer-hostile decision & not one I'm willing to support unless there is significant consumer demand and/or evidence that kiwi users don't care.

I dont see the big deal with the headphone jack, it comes with an updater. Im not sure how long we will have to wait for a global rom on the mi6, but ive seen bugs on the OS in the current ROM on youtube so hopefully those get ironed out, as will its western price drop back to the RRO of $330USD, its currently being hawked for $630nzd on aliexpress etc. Which is still a bargain for what it packs but, i see value in the Mi5 now in NZ.
Hi @NikT - what are your thoughts on the Flyme 6.7.4.11G Open Beta?
I'm going to be up in Vanuatu from late June through until probably November and won't have access to much stable internet, but use my phone as a mini tablet all the time.
How good/otherwise is the open beta? Would it be worth me flashing it?
As usual: thanks for opinions!

Runs well on my M3 Note, and the folks at PB HQ who daily drive the M3 Note and M3s have had no issues.
Flyme 6 is a really nice visual upgrade, and honestly it's worth it for the security patch bump alone. The animations and colour palette are great. I hear the stock keyboard has wonky autocorrect on the beta, but I use Google's keyboard (and a Chromium-derived browser with adblock) rather than stock anyway.

Just the sort of info I was hoping for Nik :)
I'm currently debating uninstalling TouchPal because of all the popup thingies that now happen :( Was good for a long time but has gone downhill

Is there a beta for the M5 Note? My wife broke her M3 note and decided to buy the M5 note as a replacement.

I'm guessing not yet since it's a relatively new handset model.

Stable update coming July.

Kick it to the curb. TouchPal was great years back, the only real option in the Windows Mobile days before Swype came along, but it's bloated now. Recommend Gboard, SwiftKey, & Swype. I use Gboard myself for the cross-device sync, low memory footprint, and customisation. Took Google a few years to get it right.

Does anyone have issues with Google Play Services draining their battery significantly? on my wife's M5 Note yesterday Google Play Services kept the phone awake for 12hrs while the screen was off and the battery is draining noticeably quickly compared to the M3 Note (15% battery at end of day, vs 50%+)
