Well, guess I'll be buying from Clove then. No branding and faster updates anyway. I'll wait a couple weeks.

Just had an email from Clove saying my silver version won't arrive until 3rd of April.

So I wonder who has the correct information, Otari or Mahdibassam. Noel Leemings 20% off goes until next Tuesday so if it is going to get released the next day hopefully we will know by then.

Has anybody pre-ordered from NL yet? If so, did you ask them when they think they will have it in?

I'd believe the later date regardless of what the rep told me. I'll be getting my One from Clove, realized I don't really want branding or to wait on Telecom to approve updates.

The information i give is not from me. I coopied and pasted the information from my chat with telecom. rest assured you wont see an hTC One in New Zealand until May. Your best bet if you dont wanna wait is to buy from clove or handtec.

Even Clove just said existing pre-orders will be filled after Easter, and new pre-orders filled late April. It's gonna take a while.

Apparently HTC is having a hard time with camera supply which is delaying the release.

Ultrapixel might be as good as 13 megapixel though judging from above..

Pisses me off. IF you announce a product, make bloody sure your supply chain is good for the bloody date you've stated it available for.

HTC have pretty much opened the door for Samsung to walk all over them. Again.

I dont think its entirely their fault. They are no longer a priority customer so have to wait.  However perhaps they could have waited until they had built up a reasonable stock before release to be able to supply initial demand and have a buffer from supply problems

Is your link correct? Because the piece you linked to doesn't suggest that at all...

Those of you who import from Clove, do you not get snagged by customs for GST?

His comment, and many of our thoughts, still stand. You can clearly see that the HTC One's camera isn't anywhere near the quality of the S4... in that image. There is heavy artifacting and overall resolution is much worse.

I don't think the S4 is going to be ground breaking, but really neither is the HTC One. They do their respective jobs well and comparing them is like comparing a rugby back with a rugby wing. Both play rugby, can run pretty well and even sometimes swap positions, but ultimately they play one position better than the other.

That HTC One camera is bloody awful. It's not even a close comparison.

That's what I referring to, based on GSMArena's comparisons ultrapixels do not look anywhere near as good as a decent 13mp, which is why I wondered if the suggestion they were was taken from some piece other than the linked one.
