I could not believe my eyes when I saw that a two part update is available for my wife's HTC Magic. Did the update on the way to drop her off to work .. and sure enough it looked like froyo. A bit slow, can't really tell  until she gets home tonight.

But yeah any thoughts? Should I have done it? Would it make the inferior 32B touch slow?

Feedback would be much appreciated.

I've just asked my boyfriend to check to see if his Magic has an update for him :)

His concern is that he's got the Blizzard mobile authenticator on his phone, but I've said that it shouldn't be a problem as the update won't wipe his settings... :D

I found a link relating vodafone UK, what about NZ & Australia? http://mobile.engadget.com/2010/12/14/htc-magic-gets-froyo-on-vodafone-uk/

Well it is on my wife's phone right now, and I did not see any press releases either. Never thought it would never happen. I tweeted Vodafone about it but haven't had reply

According to this site: http://mobilenews.mybloogs.com/2010/12/14/android-2-2-1-froyo-arrives-on-vodafones-htc-magic/

You can run full 10.1 flash? Wow

Still a bit unsure of how much faster it would run now as when it first loaded it felt real slow, there was a message about it being slow though. Can't wait to test it tonight.

Hmm that is interesting news, i have been running froyo on my magic for months now thanks to the folks at cyanogenmod. It is very very unlikely that it will support flash certainly mine doesnt seeing as flash isnt released for the CPU found in the magic and they pretty much said it wont be.

Runs very well now probably better than 1.6 but it required a few performance tweaks to get it perfect.

I don't see why you would need to? All you need is data I believe and it is getting pushed out accordingly.

Have you tried the checkin thing from your dialer?

Are you able to access market using your 2 deg sim?

So far I tried to bring dialer up on froyo and is super fast compared to donut. Have yet to test the rest

No update on my device yet. I have a VF sim. Tried the check for updates menu on the phone, but it says my system is currently up to date.

Hi. I tried the checkin procedure too from my dialpad. Received the checkin success message, but no update.

Looks like I'll have to be patient for a little longer.
