Hi,

Not sure if this is the right section of the forum, but feel free to move if more appropriate elsewhere.

I'm looking for a free web hosting account to experiement with my Rapidweaver (OSX) blog and syncing it with Blogger.com using RapidBlog. I have a MobileMe account but this doesn't support php - so the web host would have to do that. I have a domain I can use.

Any recommendations?
Cheers.

DreamHost - it's not free, but for roughly US$8 a month you get a pretty good deal, plus no ads.  Just miss out on a couple cups of coffee a month and it'll pay for itself.

Agreed dont bother with free hosts.  Even if you do find one chances are in a years time it will be either gone, or turn to crap, or changed their rules so they can have adverts etc.. (then later on gone).

Try http://www.freehostia.com. I have been using it for over a year and it meets my needs. Free, bannerless including mysql

Cheers,

Matt.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

http://dotlayer.com/ - is my favorite.

1gb space + 20gb bw + lots of features :) (no ads/links/post2host)

it's mistake to think that free hosting sucks.. coz it's not. sure you would be forced away if you cause huge server load. just use it for your personal needs and even get forum and other engines running with less then 1k users your account won't cause any trouble to hoster. and again... US hostings are pretty cheap any way :)

Thanks for that. dotlayer.com doesn't look like there is a link for freehosting, though it promotes it. Freehostia looks ideal. Still, any other link - keep 'em coming.

Cheers.
