I rang up dead on 8am, so hopefully I'm close to the front of the queue haha. Lets get a Speedtest thread going once people start getting connected.

"Ultra-VDSL hasn't quite made it to your place yet.

We are expanding the service massively over the next few months, so it should be available soon."...

VDSL in a few months, I'll keep you to that...

What are the upload speeds on the plans? The page only mentions 30 and 100mb down for the fibre plans, with no information at all on speeds for the VDSL plans.

Seems it reports "next few months" for anything, I tried with an address that is never going to get VDSL (too far from exchange) and it says the same thing. I wouldn't hold them to it...

The address finder app gave me a 'no', too. I happen to know that VDSL is on the street, so I called and got it checked manually.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Hey Gundar, flick me your address in a PM and i'll have a look as to why you get a yes and a no at the same time.

cheers,

At the moment we're only contracted with Chorus but will be looking at other LFCs in the new year.

Fibre speeds are 30/10 and 100/50 :)

I'm on the boundary, the last street it reaches to. Snap also gave me a 'no' based on the address finder but a subsequent check came out to be yes. I suspect the people on the other side of the street are "rural".

there are 3 results that come back from a chorus auto prequalification., yes, no, and dunno. vdsl for you will be in the 'dunno' field. a manual request generally finds the real result, although manual prequals takes time as it's well, manual.

as such the address checker errs on the side of caution and says not available, which by the sounds of it is what snap's did as well.

hope that clears it up for you and any other people with the same question.

I wish slingshot had told us that from the beginning when they started talking about UFB on their website over a year ago
